'Marvel's Luke Cage' News, Update: Leaked Set Photos Feature Familiar and New Faces

After "Jessica Jones" Season 1, fans are already keeping tabs on Mike Colter's upcoming appearance on the small screen. This time around, it will be on his own show titled "Marvel's Luke Cage" in which he will play the titular character.

Cage happens to play a big role in the Krysten Ritter-starred series where viewers get to find out his backstory as well as his characteristics as a person who possesses incredible strength on top of his unbreakable skin. Next year, however, the meek bartender will be starring in his own series where fans can expect to learn more about the origin of his powers, the reasons for his predicament, as well as how he got to meet the alcoholic private eye.

The series is reportedly already in its filming stage and this week, a slew of behind-the-scene photos from the show have surfaced online and dropped a handful of hints on what's to come.

Citing the details over at the Daily Mail, the images show Colter and his cast mates in action. Highlighting the pictures is Rosario Dawson, who plays as the nurse character named Claire Temple.

For those closely following Netflix's side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they might happen to know Temple back in 2015's "Marvel's Daredevil" and in the later part of "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Season 1.

In the picture, the "Sin City" star is dragging her co-star Frank Whaley. The latter is in character as Detective Scarfe. He appears to be wounded on the pictures and Dawson's alter-ego can be seen carrying him around.

In one of the images, Whaley can be found lying on the pavement and is surrounded by co-stars including Colter himself. Several snippets later, Dawson and Colter can be spotted doing some goofy poses. This probably happened during their shooting break.

For the meantime, Netflix is yet to air "Daredevil" Season 2 next year. The show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a.k.a. the Man Without Fear. Down the line, the latter will be appearing together with Jones and Cage in the upcoming team-up mini-series from the web streaming service which will be based on The Defenders.
