Miami Heat News 2015: Dwyane Wade Moves into 50th in All-Time Scoring List
The name Dwyane Wade may not be in anyone's list of the top 10 greatest shooting guards of all time, but once his career ends, that is something that must be reconsidered.
The longtime Miami Heat player officially moved into 50th in the NBA's all-time scoring list with 19,005 points. He made the achievement after sinking a free throw with a little over three minutes remaining in the Heat's come-from-behind 96-91 win against the winless Sixers on Saturday night. He also got the game high honors in scoring with 27, coupled with seven rebounds and four assists.
At 33, Wade is now a member of the elite club of the top 50 scorers in league history and this achievement makes him a surefire entry to the basketball Hall of Fame once he retires. He holds a career average of 24.0 PPG, putting him in fifth place among the active players in the NBA.

But there actually is something unique about the guard's achievement. Obviously, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are way ahead on the list. Wade for his part has always been known to be a fierce competitor who never settles for a jumper. Bryant and Jordan could have attributed half of their scoring output in fade away jumpers, but Wade always wanted to go strong to the basket. Some of the players on the list like two of the greatest shooters in history, Ray Allen and Reggie Miller, got high on the list because of their accuracy beyond the arc.
"When it's all said and done, what I've accomplished in this league — there's a lot of knocks you can say about my game… I'm great ay playing basketball, I take a lot of pride in having my own niche," the former Marquette standout said.
The fifth overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft led his team, the Miami Heat to its first-ever NBA title in 2006. He then won another championship with Miami, alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh in 2012 and 2013.
