Michelle Obama's 'Let Girls Learn' Anthem Makes Waves
Michelle Obama, the United State's First Lady, once more sets the bar high for first ladies. She continues to make waves where it matters with her new initiative "Let Girls Learn" which is a campaign to help 62 million girls around the world get an education and complete it. Proving she's on the right track, popular artists as Kelly Clarkson, "American Idol" winner; Missy Elliot, a foremost rapper; Kelly Rowland, formerly of the band Destiny's Child; Lea Michele of "Glee," and many more have rallied together to bring forth what has been known as the "Let Girls Learn" anthem, written by the Oscar nominee Diane Warren.
The song is called "This Is For My Girls" and is intended as an anthem as well as a means to raise funds for the millions of teen-aged girls to attend school and stay there. This is a joint initiative between the First Lady and President Barack Obama. One hundred percent of the proceeds from purchases of the song at Apple iTunes would help fund the Peace Corps Let the Girls Learn initiatives.
The song is produced by AOL's MAKERS, which has also coordinated a relaunch of "#62MillionGirls, Let Girls Learn" campaign on social media, initially launched in September.

Warren described the making of the song to Billboard, "It's kind of like 'We Are the World' meets 'Lady Marmalade' with these strong voices and strong women." The songwriter had shared the making of the anthem soon after its release. "When was the last time you heard a song like this or a record that had this many amazing divas on it? I'm really proud."
The Academy Award nominee believes the song could be a "huge anthem worldwide."
Zendaya also revealed to People how she had felt when asked to be a part of this undertaking. She said she was shocked when she got the call from the White House. The young artist sees it as an "amazing opportunity," something close to her heart.
"Both of my parents are educators so for me, education is important because that's what I've been surrounded by my entire life."
The First Lady salutes all the talents who have come together to respond to her call for action for 62 million girls around the world to have a future.
