Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Vs OnePlus 2: Which Flagship is Better?

The OnePlus 2 was released in July this year, followed three months later by the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, giving users a choice between flagships.

The OnePlus 2 offers users an Android 5.1 Lollipop mobile operating system, while the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL carries the Redmond, Washington company's latest Windows 10 OS.

While the OnePlus 2 may have more RAM support at 4GB compared to the Lumia 950 XL's 3GB, the latter offers a better screen resolution of 77 percent more pixels and a sharper, crisper display compared to the OnePlus 2.

In terms of storage capacity, the OnePlus 2 trumps the Lumia 950 XL with 64GB of internal storage compared to the latter's 32GB, translating to almost 100 percent more in-house storage, allowing users additional room for photos, videos, apps, and music.

On the other hand the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL wins the camera resolution round with its 20MP sensor vis-à-vis the OnePlus 2's 13MP rear camera. With 53 percent more megapixels, the Lumia takes better quality pictures.

In other features, such as storage support, the Lumia 950 XL offers a memory card slot for additional storage capacity, which the OnePlus 2 does not. The Lumia also features FM Radio support, allowing users to enjoy their favorite stations, a feature missing in the OnePlus 2.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL also has a removable battery, enabling users to do a hard reset when their device freezes, or change to a spare battery when their existing battery has run out of power. The OnePlus 2's battery is permanently attached to its smartphone body.

The Lumia further supports NFC wireless payments, and can connect with another NFC enabled handsets by touching both devices to each other, a feature OnePlus 2 does not support.

In terms of price point, however, the OnePlus 2 trumps the Lumia 950 XL with a less expensive price tag of $386 over the latter's $663.
