Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth News: Actor Denies He's Engaged to Singer

Following weeks of speculation that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged again, the actor has finally spoken up for the first time: he's not engaged.

According to People, Hemsworth told Australia's TV Week, "I am not engaged, no."

The 26-year-old's statements were made on March 31 and since then, no other information has been given by the two. However, they were recently spotted having a lunch date with Hemsworth's family and they purportedly enjoyed the gathering.

Cyrus has been flashing the engagement ring that Hemsworth gave her years ago, giving fans the idea that the two are finally back on planning their wedding. Multiple sources have also confirmed the news to some major outlets, giving even more confusion now that the "Hunger Games" star delivered the comments no "Liley" fan would have expected.

MTV U.K. adds that the speculations about a second engagement became even more stronger after paparazzi shots of Cyrus supposedly moving in with Hemsworth were released early this year. While insiders have dished whatever information they have about the reconciliation, none of the two have spoken up.

During the said interview conducted over two weeks ago, Hemsworth also explained why he hasn't been spotted much outside these days. According to Elle, he said, "I just didn't leave my home for the last few months because I had back injury; I really couldn't do much."

Regarding all the rumors and media attention he has been receiving ever since he and Cyrus were spotted cozying up in Australia over the holidays, he clarified: "I am not someone who is looking for any more attention than I have and I try not to draw attention in any way."

Despite the shocking revelation, fans are still holding on to hopes of a wedding on the way soon as the two were seen attending big brother Chris Hemsworth's movie screening in Los Angeles last weekend.

Hemsworth and Cyrus called off their engagement in 2013 and were romantically linked to other celebrities before they sparked rumors of a re-engagement early this year.
