Miss Universe 2015 News: Miss Colombia Explains Steve Harvey Gaff 'Was Very Humiliating'

Following the hosting blunder that occurred on the stage of Miss Universe 2015 on Dec. 20, Miss Colombia has finally spoken up about how she truly feels about the experience.

According to CNN, Miss Colombia 2015, Ariadna Gutierrez, told W Radio last Wednesday that she didn't react right away to the rage of her countrymen after the event since she has had a hard time dealing with the humiliation of having been crowned and eventually been stripped off something she thought was hers.

"It has been very hard for me, truly, it has been a great shock. Because it is a dream I fought for...I have always dreamed of this, of being Miss Universe...It was very humiliating for me," she said.

The pageant has become the most shocking event in the history of Miss Universe stages after host Steve Harvey named the wrong winner and after about four minutes apologized for his mistake, announcing that Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.

Gutierrez said she thought Harvey was joking since during rehearsals he has spilled some jokes similar to what happened. She believes that production should have done something better than stripping her off the crown on stage and in the face of the entire world. "They could have done it...the next day in a press release or a press conference," she said.

On the other hand, Gutierrez has had enough time to grieve over her loss and she is optimistic about the future as there have been a good number of job opportunities offered to her. She also said she has been offered a job in the United States, which is a good start as she moves on from the humiliating experience.

Wurtzbach won over 80 other contestants from around the world, with Gutierrez being the First Runner-Up, meaning she will take over the responsibilities of Miss Universe in case Wurtzbach fails to live by her title.
