'Monster Hunter Stories' News: Legend Of Zelda DLC Released For Free
"The Legend of Zelda" DLC (downloadable content) was released for "Monster Hunter Stories" completely free and it comes with some pretty awesome stuff.
Included in the update is the Zelda pack which contains Link's iconic tunic and sword. A Majora's Mask outfit for the cute feline sidekick, Navirou, is also included in the pack and even Epona as a welcome partner.
The outfit is modeled after Majora's Mask, referred to as the Cursed Mask in Monster Hunter Stories, and changes Navirou's voice into an echoey, creepy version of itself. Very reminiscent of Skull Kid's off-putting laughs in "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask."
As for Link's iconic gear, the Hero's Sword comes complete with a spectacularly detailed Hylian Shield and an Elder Dragon slaying skill. The Hero's clothes also come with effects that slightly recovers HP each turn in battle and increases evasion when under half HP.
Finally, Epona rounds off the unlockable set as a partner and comes with the Kinship Skill which is essentially a super move that calls upon the power of the Triforce.
For fans of the Zelda franchise, nothing is probably more fulfilling than having a Link lookalike take on a fierce Nargacuga with a Majora's Mask-wearing feline sidekick. Players can get the DLC by going to the title screen and instead of choosing Load Game, choose DLC, then Download.
With the Nintendo Switch getting all the attention from video game journalists, developers, and gamers, "Monster Hunter Stories" proves that the 3DS is still a great platform despite being at the end of its lifecycle. The turn-based combat is heavily reminiscent of the Final Fantasy series of games that can be appreciated by retro-gaming fans and provides a compelling experience for gamers.
With freebies such as the free Zelda DLC pack, "Monster Hunter Stories" can probably get a lot more gamers to try the 3DS as the platform slowly gives its place to the Switch.
