'Mortal Kombat X' DLC News, Update: Creator Ed Boon Comments on TMNT Character DLC Rumors; New Costumes Coming?

Fans of NetherRealms Studios' hit fighting video game title "Mortal Kombat X" have long been waiting for any updates about the game's upcoming second DLC pack called "Kombat Pack 2."

Although the company is yet to announce a specific release date for the expansion pack, it was heavily speculated that it will follow the same month as the first Kombat Pack was rolled out.

According to Yibada.com, the outing of the new playable characters and updates may happen on March 2016. The first pack was released initially on March 13 this year where the character of Jason Voorhees, of the "Friday the 13th" film franchise, first came out. The weeks that followed saw the coming of the Predator, then Tanya, and then Tremor as the last one.

Kombat Pack 2 is expected to follow the same subsequent weekly release of characters. However, rumors began to resonate in the past week indicating that the second quartet might come out altogether. This is because, as based on the report from Design & Trend, MKX might feature the four characters of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

Excitement began to proliferate when Ed Boon, the game's creator, attended to one of his followers' questions if the iconic ninja reptiles could make it to the MK franchise as "guest characters." Boon, who was often heard of for his dodgy statements, made an exception in this case when he replied bluntly with a "no."

The TMNT for MK X is just but one of the many out-of-the-box speculations. Movie characters like Indiana Jones ("Indiana Jones"), Neo ("The Matrix"), The Joker (Batman movies), just to name a few, have all been suggested to join the list.

While fans should still have to wait for an official update, another Twitter post from Boon earlier this month indicated that there will be new costumes for characters like Takeda and D'vorah. It remains to be seen if this will be included in 2016's "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 DLC.

Stay tuned for more updates.
