'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Trailer Released, Features Outgoing US President Barack Obama

After receiving critical acclaims, nominations for multiple awards, and winning the 2015 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series for Drama, the renewal of USA Network's techno-thriller, "Mr. Robot," didn't really come off as a big surprise. Now, cybersecurity engineer and hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and his infamous fsociety are back in action in the highly anticipated Season 2 of the show.

Earlier this week, the teaser for "Mr. Robot" Season 2 debuted as part of NBCUniversal's upfront presentation to advertisers, according to Entertainment Weekly. USA is owned by Comcast's NBCUniversal.

The new footage appears to be in direct connection to the dark and twist plot of the original season. Series creator Sam Esmail previously told the press that the upcoming installment will unravel the drastic consequences that fsociety had done in Season 1.

In fact, the clip (which can be seen below) teases that the situation has already reached at the national level that it caught the attention of the incumbent president of the United States of America, Barack Obama. The chief executive of the state can be seen talking about the massive cyber-attack of E(vil) Corp, which needless to say, has affected the entire economy of the country.

"There hasn't been anything like this in the past," Obama can be heard as saying in his faux cameo. "This is going to be affecting our economy in ways that are extraordinarily significant."

The POTUS added by pinpointing the perpetrators of the cyber criminal act.

"The FBI announced today that Tyrell Wellick and Fsociety engaged in this attack," he said.

Aside from the pressing national issue, Season 2 will also intend to fill in the gaps of Elliot's past and present.

"There will be a lot more backstory that will be shown, the timeline will get a little clearer — not 100 percent clear, because where's the fun in that?" Esmail said in an earlier interview with EW.

"Mr. Robot" Season 2 returns to the USA Network on July 13.
