'Mr. Robot' Spoilers: Showrunner Teases Season 2; Show To Further Explore Elliot's 'Emotional Journey'

The Golden Globe-winning hit drama TV series "Mr. Robot" from USA Network is now getting ready for Season 2 and fans are eagerly waiting to know more about the upcoming installment.

In the show's panel during the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena a few days ago, executive producer Sam Esmail revealed that there are still so many aspects in the Season 1 finale that viewers will be shocked to find out come Season 2.

For one, the EP revealed, as he was quoted by TVLine that "there's a reason why Darlene [Carly Chaikin] is not in the Times Square sequence" when Elliot (Rami Malek) saw a vision of his family.

Aside from these surprising turn of events, Esmail told the press that the new chapter will still continue to embark on Elliot's "emotional journey."

"I really wanted to focus on that and make it less about the plot," Esmail teased. "For me, the headline for Season 2 is, 'How do these two guys [Elliot and Mr. Robot] reconcile? How does Elliot reconcile with the fact that he's been seeing a delusion, a fantasy?'"

Esmail further explained the plot for Season 2, this time as he was cited by Entertainment Weekly.

"There will be a lot more backstory that will be shown, the timeline will get a little clearer — not 100 percent clear, because where's the fun in that?" Esmail said, according to the Entertainment Weekly report.

More importantly, the showrunner added that it will certainly be a big challenge for the series to unravel the story of a man who turns out to be aware of his delusion.

"Mr. Robot" nabbed two wins at the Golden Globes for the Best Television Drama Series award and the Best Supporting Actor award given to Christian Slater who portrayed the titular character. Malek, on the other hand, was nominated for Best Performance by An Actor In A TV Series.

Season 2 is slated to hit the small screens this summer.
