MWC 2016: Huawei Debuts 2-in-1 Device MateBook

Huawei has finally debuted its own 2-in-1 device MateBook during the Mobile World Congress 2016 to meet the changing needs of the modern business world.

The Huawei MateBook runs the 6th-Generation Intel Core m-series processor and boasts of a thin, stylish, and fanless physique. The 2-in-1 device also uses the Windows 10 and features the most recent browser, Cortana virtual assistant, and Microsoft Edge, the Deccan Chronicle reports.

The Huawei MateBook is made of high-quality aluminum unibody that gives it an ultra slim and sleek appearance. The device weighs just 640 grams and is only 6.9 mm thick, Mobile Choice relays. It is secured by the fastest fingerprint recognition technology in the industry in the form of the One-touch Unlock.

The 2-in-1 device has a durable keyboard that features a 1.5-mm keystroke and chiclet keycap design. It has a keyboard case made of soft PU leather, which is environment-friendly, plus a built-in touchpad with multi-touch technology for smooth and precise finger movements.

As for the display, the 12-inch IPS multi-touch screen of the MateBook boasts of a 2160 x 1440 resolution and 160-degree wide angle. The screen can display true-to-life colors, the report relays.

When it comes to power, the Matebook will last for nine consecutive hours of Internet usage and 29 hours of music playback. Its 33.7Wh high-density Lithium battery can also charge fully in just two-and-a-half hours and up to 60 percent in just an hour.

The device is accompanied by the MatePen stylus that comes in handy for consumers who frequently use handwritten notes. The stylus can also double as a laser pointer for business presentations, the report adds.

The Huawei MateBook will be released in Asia, Europe, and North America in the next few months and will come in grey and gold color variants. The new 2-in-1 device will cost from $699 to $1,599.
