Furthermore, in Denver, Colorado, Woody Creek Café is offering free chocolate chip cookies in honor of National Chocolate Chip Day. Alternately, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels are giving away two chocolate chip cookies for free on May 15. Participants do not need to be guests, just drop by any DoubleTree hotel on Thursday.

On Twitter, National Chocolate Chip Day celebrations swept the nation with users sounding off about their favorite treats. Among them, the official Twitter account for Sesame Street posted a special tweet from its famous character, The Cookie Monster.

"Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie day! #omnomnom" the blue character tweeted.

Sally added, "Happy National Chocolate Chip Day! Sorry, I'm shouting, it's like Christmas over here in my weird food holidays."

"It's National Chocolate Chip Day," Earl of Sandwich wrote. "Who wants one of our soft and chewy #chocolatechipcookies?"
