NBA Trade News, Rumors: Jeremy Lin Heading To Chicago Bulls As Charlotte Hornets Locks Down Jeremy Lamb
The recent report pointing out to the purported three-year extension deal between the Charlotte Hornets and its shooting guard, Jeremy Lamb, could further give weight to the rumors that the franchise is ready to trade Jeremy Lin to the Chicago Bulls.
Yibada.com cited ESPN's sports correspondent, Marc Stein, confirming the report that the Hornets is now on the verge of finalizing the deal with Lamb.
"According to ESPN sources, Hornets and Lamb are closing in on a three-year extension in the $21 million range," the reporter was quoted as saying (via Yibada).

Its relevance to the report of Lin heading to Bulls is that letting go of the 27-year-old "Linsanity" figurehead would give the Hornets the chance to acquire Kirk Hinrich, Bull's shooting guard/point guard. Aside from having a veteran on the court, the trade with Lin would also have the Bulls give their own 2016 Draft pick to the Hornets.
Hinrich, plus two first-round picks, surely spell a fantastic deal for the Hornets who is currently on the way to rebuild its lineup.
Lin recently made the headlines for his late-game heroics when the team went up against the visiting Atlanta Hawks at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Sunday. Visitors won 94-92 against home.
The report from MorningNewsUSA.com gave a recap of the match where the former New York Knicks player collected seven points and two boards on top of making two blocks and a steal. The most shocking aspect of Lin's gameplay is the fact that he had only been on the floor for 21 minutes.
An article from Sportige.com gave weight on a different scenario if Coach Steve Clifford had given Lin more minutes, perhaps even including him in the starting lineup.
"The Hornets overall look better when he plays," says the article. "The Hornets have problems in creativity and offense in general off the bench, but treating Lin like an upgraded bench player isn't going to help the Hornets pick up the pace," the site added.
