NBA Trade Rumors 2015: Rockets Interested In Suns' Markieff Morris
Markieff Morris' time with the Phoenix Suns is all but numbered, and everyone has been expecting it since publicly criticizing his own team for trading away his twin brother, Marcus Morris, over the summer. At that point before the regular season, he didn't hesitate to voice out his displeasure by saying that he's better off getting traded, too. And now it looks like he's going to get what he's been asking for.
According to several sources, the Houston Rockets are very interested in getting Morris to provide a decent offensive guy in the team's frontline. This is another trade rumor to have come from the struggling Houston team that had championship aspirations to start the season.
But what's in it for the Suns in return?
Phoenix, meanwhile, is definitely looking to get rid of the 26-year-old after all the offseason fiasco. In any case, they wouldn't be losing that much should the Rockets be willing to include Terrence Jones in the package. Morris is a more polished offensive player compared to Jones, but the question of how balanced the trade will be is still up in the air, especially with respect to who might be included in the package. It may still be full of uncertainties at this point, but as soon as the trade deadline nears, there will be more or less a hundred players who are expected to sign new deals, causing a ripple effect to several teams in search for upgrades.
One of those teams that are desperate for an upgrade is Houston. The team has been nothing short of a disappointment this season, and things turn from bad to worse as the franchise got rid of their coach, Kevin McHale, very early in the year.
All signs are pointing to Morris leaving Phoenix sooner than later. Although he signed a four-year deal worth $32 million to stay with the Suns, it seems to be a road the team is no longer taking. With Tyson Chandler on board and Morris unable to move on from his brother's departure, there's no fairy tale ending with him and the Suns in this one.
