NBA Trade Rumors: Wolves Look to Trade Kevin Martin
Kevin Martin has been around in the league long enough to understand that everything is about business. Already an established veteran in the NBA, he has dealt with all sorts of rumors and speculations about being traded, and this season is no different.
The Associated Press first unveiled the news that Martin's current team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, is trying to explore their options in trading him. While it looks like a premature decision, especially if one looks at the offensive contributions of Martin, it actually makes sense for the Wolves. It's because sophomore guard Zach Levine has been playing good as of late and that team officials will certainly go for a young prospect than an aging veteran.
With Martin's prospect of getting traded looking more and more realistic, it will mean that the guard position will now be filled by the team's bunch of younger ones including Andrew Wiggins and Ricky Rubio.

So far, there are two teams putting themselves in the position of getting Martin, though there is no word yet that officially recognizes any trade offers.
The 32-year-old veteran is currently averaging 12.7 points a game in a little over 26 minutes. His main attribute as a league veteran is his scoring. However, it's been a struggle for him to make a major impact for the Wolves this season since he's been in and out of the regular rotation, while his recently healed wrist injury may still be bothering him.
His current contract with the Wolves is not really something that some other teams will turn their backs on. He is expected to make a little over $7 million this season, but with the salary cap expected to stretch come next summer, anyone who gets Martin today will probably be more than happy to have done so without hurting their pockets that much.
