'NCIS: New Orleans': Episode 22 Recap, 'How Much Pain Can You Take'

On this week's episode of "NCIS: New Orleans," Baitfish murders someone close to the NCIS team to send a message to Pride, prompting a citywide manhunt for the elusive criminal.

At Chris' house, he discovers that his girlfriend, Savannah, has been shot and killed. He tells Pride that he went out to buy some wine and when he came back, he found her dead on the kitchen floor. Loretta and Merri work on the body, and Merri tells Pride that they have found Paul Jinx's—aka Baitfish—fingerprint on the body.

Loretta tells Pride that the body has been dragged to the window, and at first Pride puzzles over this, and when he figures it out, he shouts at everyone to get down, and someone outside opens fire on the team. Chris runs outside to look for the shooter, but all he finds is an abandoned AK-47.

Pride meets his contact Sonja, who has been working undercover. She says that Baitfish is after his team. Afterwards, Baitfish calls Pride and taunts him, and Pride promises to find him and kill him.

Sebastian runs some tests on the bullets that were used at the shooting at Chris' house, and he says that the bullets are very rare and were made in South America. They were thought to be illegal and the Navy was ordered to destroy them, but someone beat them to it and stole all the bullets from the base where a huge amount of it was hidden.

Pride gets a call and the caller says that a truck was hijacked. The team goes to the site and they realize that Baitfish did it. They also find Sonja's phone at the scene. Chris looks at the furniture in the truck and finds some artifacts from the Iraq war hidden among all the piles. They run the name of the truck driver, and they find out that he used to work for Sasha, Baitfish's ex. After their split, Baitfish stole the artifacts.

Later, the team is shocked when they find Baitfish at the headquarters, and he says that he is surrendering. At the interrogation room, they question him about Sonja's whereabouts, and Chris and Merri find her in the nick of time.

At the station, Pride meets with the attorney general, who tells him that they cut a deal with Baitfish—he's only getting five years in prison in exchange for telling them about Sasha's operation.

Pride goes to Sasha and tries to get her to surrender so that Baitfish won't get his deal, but she refuses to do so.

The attorney general picks up Baitfish, and Chris and Merri insist on following the van. On the road, a large van cuts them off and someone from the inside shoots at the attorney general's van. Baitfish escapes, and Chris follows him to an abandoned warehouse.

In the warehouse, Baitfish surrenders to Chris, but Chris tells Baitfish to pick up his weapon because though he's going to shoot him, he's giving him a chance to protect himself, a chance that the criminal never gave Savannah. Pride and Merri arrive, and Pride tells Chris to drop his gun. Baitfish warns them that a storm is coming to New Orleans, something bigger than all of them, and then, a shooter sneaks into the warehouse and shoots Baitfish dead.

"NCIS: New Orleans" airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS
