'NCIS' Season 13 Episode 14 Spoilers: Crew Takes On A Dangerous Deep-Sea Mission
After taking a brief hiatus, CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "NCIS" Season 13 returns to the airwaves with yet another action-packed episode that will see the crew strapping on some oxygen tanks as they head on down below the deep blue sea. Meanwhile, cast member Michael Weatherly's exit from the show comes to the spotlight again.
Based on the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Decompressed," the NCIS squad will be investigating the brutal murder of a deep sea diver who is killed while on the job. However, the team will be forced to investigate from outside a high-tech decompression chamber while the victim's body, along with his co-workers who are also suspects, are all inside the chamber, decompressing, for four days.
According to earlier reports, star Maya Stojan will guest star as deep-sea diver Meredith Ragen.
Speaking of casting, fans of the show were left shocked when it was announced that series star Michael Weatherly is already departing as Agent Anthony DiNozzo. A regular since the inception of the Mark Harmon-starred TV programming, Weatherly told the press that he will be leaving at the end of Season 13 for him to give way and to pursue his other interests.
More recent reports indicate that part of the network's plan to prepare for Weatherly's departure would be to call out for two new series regulars. One would play a character named Tess who is described as a "quick-witted, sarcastic, shrewd" woman and a "two parts bulldog, one part sweet kitten."
As hinted by sources close to CBS, the second character is described as a three-time divorced character who is in her "late 30s," a transfer from NY Counter-Terrorism Unit.
As for how DiNozzo would leave the show, the details still remain sketchy, although, there are rumors saying that a former cast member will reprise his/her role to give the fan-favorite operative a sendoff.
"NCIS" Season 13 Episode 14 "Decompressed" premieres this Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
