'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers: Ellie Tries to Get Over Jake

The upcoming episode of "NCIS" season 13 will put more focus on Ellie and Jake's relationship.

Previous episodes of the season revealed that Jake, played by Jamie Bamber, was cheating on his wife, Special Agent Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop, played by Emily Wickersham. After a rocky holiday season, the two finally decided to divorce.

However, it seems as though Agent Bishop will be struggling as she deals with her divorce. It was revealed that Bishop never expected having to go through a divorce with Jake.

According to TV Guide, the actress was able to share some insight about her character's state of mind in the episode to come. She stated, "Divorce throws anyone for a loop, especially in these circumstances. This [the divorced with Jake] has really thrown a wrench into her whole thing ... It'll be hard for her. We'll see a bit of unraveling."

Meanwhile, Wickersham also addressed the fact that her character realized that she never really paid attention to her marriage. She added, "The fact that their relationship [Ellie and Jake's] was basically formed in a work environment based on convenience, it was bound to have problems. I think it's pretty surprising that she didn't pick up on that."

With that, Wickersham explained that her character will not put more focus on herself and her career as a way to get over her failed marriage. Fans can expect Bishop to become more engrossed in her work in the episodes to come. She will also be seen reflecting on her relationship.

Wickersham also reassured fans that Bishop will not be rushing into another romantic interest any time soon. It seems as though her character will need some time to ready herself for another relationship.

"NCIS" episode 14, titled "Decompressed," is expected to air on CBS this Feb. 9.
