'Neko Atsume' Cat Collecting Sim Coming To PlayStation VR Next Year
The hit mobile cat collecting sim "Neko Atsume" is set to receive a virtual reality makeover when it's released on the PlayStation VR. This is just one of the announcements made during Sony's conference at Tokyo Game Show last Tuesday.
Coming next year to the PlayStation VR, developer Hit Point will also have a hand at porting their mobile game to the console. There is currently little detail regarding the game following the announcement although it is very likely that it will be very similar to its mobile counterpart. A logo was also shown during the surprise reveal although it only revealed the cute cartoon characters of the game.
The original "Neko Atsume" was released in Japan back in 2014 on both the Android and iOS platforms. It arrived on Western shores a year later when an English version was launched.

The game was meant to be a casual and relaxing title that revolves around caring for virtual cats. Users can leave goodies such as food and toys to attract cats to the virtual home.
There are more than 40 varieties of cartoon cats for them to collect. These range from a simple tabby or calico variety to rare cats based off baseball players, police officers, butlers, and even ninjas. Players can rename their cats and even take pictures with them. They also leave presents for their owners every once and a while.
This isn't the first time the game made its way into another medium though. Earlier this year, Hit Point also released a live-action film based on the game and is set to be released on both DVD and Blu-ray next month in Japan.
"Neko Atsume" isn't the only announcement made by Sony during the Tokyo Game Show. The publisher also showcased more new games including an awesome new trailer for "Monster Hunter Worlds."
