Netflix Announces Production for New Series 'Travelers,' Starring Eric McCormack

Netflix has a new series in store for its subscribers. According to a report by Deadline, the global streaming provider has picked up an original time-traveling sci-fi series titled "Travelers." It's also set to hit the small screen soon as it has been announced that production has already commenced.

Coming Soon detailed that the series is in collaboration with Canadian TV channel Showcase. This means that "Travelers" will be airing in Canada while Netflix will be bringing it exclusively everywhere the service is available outside of the country. Reports also stated that it will be shooting in Vancouver and will be produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment Inc. The show is expected to be released sometime later this year.

Variety noted that the series will be starred by "Will & Grace" alum Eric McCormack who will play the role of Grant MacLaren, an FBI agent and team leader of the "travelers." The story plot has been revealed already as well and it says that the show will be set hundred years after. The last surviving humans have learned the way to travel back through time and they call themselves as the "travelers." They take on the lives of random people as they try to go in a mission to save humanity from a disastrous future.
