New 3D 'Rayman' News Update: Michel Ancel Express Interest in Making 'Rayman 4'
Michel Ancel may be busy with other projects right now, but the French video game designer may soon be developing a new 3D "Rayman" game.
Ancel recently took to Instagram to tease a possible fourth "Rayman" game. The photo he shared shows a life-size version of the titular character. And although he did not commit to anything or revealed specifics, the post still sent fans into a wild frenzy.
"Yesterday, I met Rayman for real, in a second-hand store. Far from his time of glory, looking ahead for some help. Pathetic," he wrote in the caption. "After 'Wild,' after 'BGE2,' we'll need to bring him back again...for his fourth adventure! Don't let heroes die!"

Ancel is currently working on a sequel to "Beyond Good & Evil" and is also set to lend his talents to another project called "Wild." But fans are understandably clamoring for a new major "Rayman" game in 3D, with the last one, "Rayman 3 HD," being released by Ubisoft way back in 2012.
"Rayman 3 HD," which is a high definition version of 2002's "Rayman 3," received lukewarm reviews upon its release. On Metacritic, the PlayStation 3 version of the game currently holds a 72 percent rating, while the Xbox 360 version holds a 69 percent rating. Both scores indicate mixed or average reviews.
In its review, IGN gave "Rayman 3 HD" a 7.0 rating, praising the game for the improved graphics although they also pointed out that the title fell short of expectations.
"The textures are cleaner, the animations smooth, and the humor remains, but gameplay is still rooted in 2003," the review reads. "'Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc' is still a good game and a lot of fun for 800 Microsoft Points, but don't expect a complete overhaul of a once great platformer."
Fans have been waiting for five years for another 3D "Rayman" game, so it is possible that they can wait a little while longer.
