'New Girl' Season 5 Spoilers: New Changes for the Group
The upcoming season of "New Girl" is expected to present a lot of changes.
The creator of the series, Liz Meriwether, recently spoke to TV Guide about the exciting things to come this season.
She stated, "There's been a lot of really funny stuff we've done over the years with them being incredibly immature, but it felt like the right moment to let them take steps forward. We've been having an amazing time this season growing the characters, and it's resulted in more comedy, not less comedy."

With that, many milestones will be presented in the episodes to come. One of the biggest events taking place in season 5 is the wedding of Schmidt, played by Max Greenfield, and Cece, played by Hannah Simone. The season will focus on their preparation for their wedding, which will bring them trouble once Cece's mom enters the picture.
The season will also dwell on Nick's journey as he begins to lead the bar. In addition, Winston becomes more mature as he takes on a job as a cop more seriously. The focus on the ensemble is due to the fact that Zooey Deschanel had to take a maternity leave.
Meriwether stated, "I'm glad Zooey took the time she needed, and it was a great challenge in the fifth season to have to do 'New Girl' without the New Girl. I'm really proud of the episodes."
However, it was reported that a new girl will be joining the cast. With Jess absent, it was said that Reagan, played by Megan Fox, will be taking on Jess' room while she is away. It was revealed that Reagan is one of Cece's friends who will not be tolerating her roommate's weird antics. She is expected to stay in the season for just four episodes and her exit is expected to bring the return of Jess.
"New Girl" season 5 airs on FOX every Tuesday.
