New HP Spectre 13 Laptop Unveiled as 'World's Thinnest Laptop'
California-based multinational technology company HP has finally unveiled to the public its newest addition to its laptop line, the HP Spectre. According to a report by CNet, the company is selling the portable computer as the "world's thinnest laptop" as it is slimmer than Apple's iconic MacBook Air. With an aluminum chassis that is as stubby as an AAA battery, the HP Spectre measures just 0.4 of an inch or 10.4 mm. It is slimmer than the 13.2 mm thick MacBook and the 15.2 mm thick Dell XPS 13.
But apart from its very thin feature, the new laptop has a lot to offer to its potential customers. As noted in The Verge, the laptop sports a 13.3-inch display with a 1080p Full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass for protection. It is also equipped with an 8 GB of RAM along with a 256 GB of storage in its base model. Tech Times also detailed that another highlight of the gadget is its choice of processors which include either an Intel Core i5 or i7.
Aside from that, the 13-inch laptop is said to have a battery that is developed in to two parts to make it as thin as the device's design. They also made it to still work for 9.5 hours on a single charge. The new device also features three USB Type-C ports with two of it supporting Thunderbolt to enable users to connect the laptop to monitors. As for its design, ARS Technica reported that HP created the laptop with mostly black CNC aluminum and carbon fiber. At the back of its hinge is a copper accent to make it appear with more or less a jewelry-like polish.

The new HP Spectre has a starting price of $1,169 and it can go up depending on the configuration per demand. It will be available for pre-order in HP's official website and in BBY.com by April 25.
