Newt Gingrich Says Brad Pitt Should Play Him in a Movie
Former speaker of the house turned key Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich knows who he wants to play him in a potential movie: Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt.
In an appearance on the Rich Stevens Radio show on Tuesday, Gingrich was asked who he would like to see play him in a film, and the candidate, more known for his staunch conservatism than his looks, picked Pitt.
"Oh, in my fantasy life?" Gingrich asked Stevens. "Brad Pitt ... why not?"

Stevens prodded on: "Is it because you both look so much alike?"
"No, I don't look like him at all," Gingrich replied. "He's thinner, he's better looking, he's younger. But you asked me if I had anybody who could play me in a movie. Why not go for Brad Pitt?"
Gingrich has managed to find time for watching films even during his busy campaign schedule. In November, Gingrich said he watched the comedy "Bridesmaids" before a Republican debate in Detroit.
Gingrich, 68, also said in October that he and his wife Callista have watched "The Hangover" a total of seven times. "It's totally stupid, but we can't help ourselves," he told a New Hampshire newspaper.
But Pitt will probably not be auditioning for the role of Newt Gingrich anytime soon. Pitt is an Obama supporter. In the February issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Pitt, who is usually quiet about his politics, said he is still "an Obama supporter, no question."
Pitt and his partner, actress Angelina Jolie, visited President Obama at the White House in January. A White House aide told polito.com that during their visit, Obama "spoke with Ms. Jolie about her work to raise the profile of preventing mass atrocities and combating sexual violence against women." Pitt was reportedly quiet and in "awe" of the president.
"I probably was - you don't want to impose on a busy man," Pitt told the magazine.
