Nexus 5X Vs Nexus 6P: Which Nexus Device Has The Edge?
When Google simultaneously announced the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in September, it was apparent that there would be a competition between the two especially since each has its own manufacturer. The Nexus 5X is made by South Korean tech giant LG while the Nexus 6P is created by Huawei. But which Nexus device should people go for? A comparison between the two might help ward off confusion.
According to Phone Radar, the Nexus 6P is said to be a high-end device while the Nexus 5X is more of an upgraded version of the previously released Nexus 5. In terms of its design, the Huawei-made device lives up to its name where "P" stands for premium as its body is made of all-metal aluminum, giving it the sleek and classy feel. It can also be handled easily as it is also slimmer and narrower.
Meanwhile, the LG-made handset still comes with a matte black body. But this time, it now comes with a new soft-touch plastic finish on the rear side. A forward facing speaker is also added. And just like the Nexus 6P, the 5X has a biometric sensor located under the rear camera module.

With regards to the dimension, Pocket-Lint details that the Nexus 5X measures 147 x 72.6 x 7.9mm while the Nexus 6P measures 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3mm. The former is notably lighter than the latter with weights at 138 grams and 178 grams respectively. But while the 5X wins at being lighter, the 6P is top when it comes to display specs.
LG's Nexus 5X sports a 5.2-inch display with 1920x180 pixel resolution while Huawei's Nexus 6P flaunts a bigger 5.7-inch display and a 2560x1440 resolution, producing a sharper and crisper display. The former is also just equipped with a regular LCD display while the latter is affixed with an AMOLED.
And since the 6P is bigger, it is also equipped with higher power under its hood. It comes with a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 with 3 GB of RAM while the 5X comes with a Snapdragon 808 processor with 2 GB of RAM. Camera-wise, the two almost come with the same camera specs. Both devices carry a 12.3-megapixel rear camera. The front of the 5X is 5-megapixel only while the 6P's selfie snapper is 8-megapixel.
With higher specs, the Huawei Nexus 6P costs more than the LG Nexus 5X. But if money is not an issue, interested consumers can choose whichever of the two they like.
