Nexus 9 Specs and Features Revealed: HTC-Made Tablet Sticks to Google Aesthetic
The successor to Google's Nexus 7 tablet, the Nexus 9, is soon to make its public release soon with pre-orders going on as early as last week. This time, the tablet has been made by HTC and even though it's made by a different manufacturer, it certainly follows Google's design aesthetic to the letter with its rounded off edges and minimalistic back covering.
Naturally, the Nexus 9 is bigger than its predecessor, the Nexus 7. Though it looks smaller than the Nexus 10, it certainly looks more refined than the 10-inch tablet. The back cover of the tablet is made of smooth plastic with an embedded Nexus lettering at the center. It comes in three colors, white, black, and gold.
One of the most noticable features of the tablet is that it comes with Google's latest Android software, the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 9 tablet is one of the two devices to sport the new mobile OS, with the other being the Nexus 6 smartphone.

With the new device running a new software, Android Lollipop feels fresh and new compared to the older versions, with the Material Design theme being carried over to all aspects of the operating system from the user interface to the apps themselves.
Aside from the freshness of the Nexus 9, there's also the 8.9-inch touchscreen with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. It's also the first tablet to sport the Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, which is a 64-bit chipset promised to bring faster performance without having to sacrifice battery life as a result.
It's powered by a dual-core 2.3GHz processor and a Kepler DX1 GPU. It comes in two storage options, a 16GB and 32GB variant and a 2GB RAM. It does not have microSD card support however.
The main camera is 8-megapixels strong capable of video recording at 1080p on 30 frames-per-second.
