Nicole, Keith Urban Shut Down Split Rumors at CMT Awards Together
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban silenced the rumor mill after putting on a united front at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tenn. on Wednesday, June 4.
The longtime couple are just days shy of their eighth wedding anniversary on June 25, but reports have surfaced lately suggesting marital trouble. Despite the negative reports, Kidman and Urban graced the red carpet in Music City with their arms lovingly around one another.
Wednesday's appearance served to silence the reports that suggested Kidman and Urban lead "separate lives" as the pair offered each other loving gazes and kisses while seated in the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday. Kidman, who turns 47 this month, donned a shirt white dress decorated with blue beading while next to the 46-year-old "American Idol" judge at the awards show.
The couple's united front directly contrasts a report found in the Daily Star where a source indicated that the stars' marriage was on "shaky ground."
"It's clear she didn't want to face questions about her marriage," an insider said after Kidman attended the Cannes Film Festival solo last month. "It seems she and Keith are on shaky ground. Keith didn't appear to want to want to free up one day of his schedule to be with her in Cannes when she needed his support this most."
However, last month, Kidman did open up about her marriage while speaking to InStyle. The Oscar-winning actress who was born in Hawaii but raised in Australia explained a nickname her mother used to call her that her husband now uses.
"My mum called me Hokulani. It means heavenly star," Kidman told the magazine. "That's something no one really knows. Well, Keith knows it. He calls me Hokulani sometimes."
The couple share two daughters together; Faith Margaret, 3, and Sunday Rose, 6, in addition to Kidman's children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
