Nintendo NX Release Date Rumors: Upcoming Console Will Arrive with 'Final Fantasy VII Remake'

The upcoming Nintendo NX gaming console could launch with "Final Fantasy VII Remake" and "Final Fantasy XV," if the latest rumor is to be believed.

Nintendo had previously struck an agreement with Square Enix to have Cloud Strife appear in "Smash Bros." After launching "Final Fantasy Explorers" with Nintendo 3DS, the upcoming Nintendo NX is now rumored to launch with "Final Fantasy VII Remake" and "Final Fantasy XV," PSX Extreme reports.

YouTuber SuperMetalDave64 has brought up the possibility of Nintendo NX being released with "Final Fantasy VII Remake" and "Final Fantasy XV." The YouTube user, who has a reliable history when it comes to rumors, said the two games could be the definitive editions because the forthcoming gaming console will have more powerful hardware compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, the report details.

A Nintendo NX release for "Final Fantasy XV" is possible because the game is a multi-platform title. "Final Fantasy VII Remake," on the other hand, is a timed exclusive for PS4, but Square Enix has announced that it is considering bringing the game to other platforms, the report adds.

Nintendo was originally expected to unveil the NX this June during the Electronic Entertainment Expo and have a full launch for the device in October or November. However, the release date could be pushed back to 2017 to avoid being drowned in the spotlight when a number of VR headsets launch this year. Analysts say postponing until next year could create more impact for the new gaming console, Expert Reviews relays.

Fans who are excited to know more about the NX can look forward to the next few months. Rumor has it that Nintendo will announce the concept for the upcoming console between March and May.

As of now, there is still no fixed release date for the Nintendo NX. More information on the new device is expected to be announced in the coming months.
