Nokia N1 vs Amazon Kindle Fire Review: Comparison of Specs and Features
A wide variety of different device classes now cater to any of the consumer needs from the standard smartphone to the phablet to the full size tablet. Nokia, after selling its mobile division to Microsoft, has just opted to unveil its mini-tablet, the N1, to the market. As a newcomer, it will have to compete against other veterans like the Amazon Kindle Fire.
The Nokia N1 is expected to release sometime early 2015 while the Kindle Fire has already been in the market for three years now, having been released in late 2011. Both devices supposedly won't work with GSM devices and can only utilize Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.
The Kindle Fire has a 7.0-inch screen with a display resolution of 1024 x 600. The Nokia N1 on the other hand has a 7.9-inch screen with a display resolution of 2048 x 1536. The N1 wins in this aspect but considering that the Kindle Fire is already three years old, it's not surprising.

The N1 is powered by an Intel Atom Z3580 chipset with a quad-core 2.3GHz processor and a PowerVR G6430 GPU. The Kindle Fire on the the other hand is powered by a TI OMAP 4430 chipset with a dual-core 1GHz processor and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU.
The Kindle Fire comes in an 8GB internal storage option with 512MB RAM while the N1 coes in a 32GB internal storage variant with 2GB of RAM. Both do not have any external storage support.
The N1 has an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel one at the front. The Kindle Fire unfortunately does not have a camera. Both devices run on Android with the Kindle Fire running on a customized Android 2.3 while the N1 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
While the N1 functions as a multi-function mini-tablet, the Kindle Fire mostly functions as a video streaming device, connected to Amazon's Prime Instant Video services.
