Oprah Winfrey Shares Her Diet Secret

Oprah Winfrey has recently shared how she was able to cut off more than 20 pounds through making simple changes in her eating habits that to some may be the smallest things.

Ever since she announced her partnership with Weight Watchers, the world was introduced to a much healthier and slimmer Winfrey, who recently shared on Instagram that she's a fan of freshly baked grain bread. Winfrey recently discovered that her favorite fish is barramundi. While the species can be found largely in the Indo-West Pacific, it is sometimes difficult to obtain in the United States so she often goes for cod as the popular fish is also a great source of vitamins A, D, and E, as well as omega-3 acids.

People who go on a diet often have cravings for food they used to eat before deciding to go on a diet. For Winfrey, there is one crunchy and tasty veggie to solve the cravings: jicama. Due to its brown skin that may make it look unappealing to most consumers, it isn't so popular. On the other hand the native Mexican vine is packed with dietary fibers and is a well-known root in Asia.

Another healthy meal that Winfrey suggests for people who want to go healthy is spaghetti squash. According to the famous talk show queen, she mixes spaghetti squash with about 3/8 of a cup of real noodles to give the healthy meal a twist.

Mashed dishes aren't so much of a trend these days and with the decline of mashed potato in this generation's food favorites, Winfrey has found an alternative way to enjoy mashed veggies. It turns out that mashed cauliflower is a better alternative for potato. Not only does it have antioxidants but it has also been linked to nutrients preventing cancer.

Winfrey has lost 26 pounds and her healthy eating is to credited.
