'Orange Is the New Black' Season 4 Rumors: Sophia Returns?

Season 4 of the Netflix original "Orange Is the New Black" is set to come back with a new round of comedy and drama. The rumors keep coming, but one of the most common topics of debate is Sophia's (Laverne Cox) return.

In season 3, Sophia was moved to the SHU (segregated housing unit) following the traumatic events that occurred as her ongoing feud with Gloria (Selenis Leyva) only got more intense.

Sophia received attacks from inmates and she ended up with her face all smothered with bruises. She was then moved to the SHU allegedly to protect her from possible attacks and threats. She attacked for various reasons, including the rumors that were spread about her and schemes of other characters who apparently were trans-phobic.

It should be remembered that before everything transpired, the poor girl was planning to fix her life and her son's who's apparently treading the wrong path in life.

Some fans feared that she might not be back for the fourth season. This could be true since being thrown away from the rest of the inmates could be a good way to exit the show. On the other hand, some also believe that her character is too precious to be removed from the hit series.

One good reason why she should come back is because the writers have already opened a new door for her life to change, and fans will surely be waiting for Sophia to find a way to make her son feel that he is loved even behind bars.

Fans speculate that the upcoming season may portray Sophia as someone who is on the way to redemption. Showrunners have been mum about season 4's plot, but fans should expect an explosive installment that promises a well-written story line not just for Sophia but also for the rest of the cast.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in the summer of 2016.
