'Outlander' Season 2 News: Claire & Frank Reunited in New Trailer

Starz, on Thursday, dropped the latest trailer for the second season of its hit fantasy drama TV series "Outlander" and it sees Claire (Caitriona Balfe) finally returning to the future. However, it seems like coming home could be the last thing she wants to happen.

Shared over at the network's official YouTube channel is the new promo video featuring some of the exciting scenes of Season 2 which premieres this April 9. According to reports, the new installment of the time-traveling drama will now revolve around Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) joining the French aristocratic society in a bid to stop the Jacobite Rebellion.

What makes the situation even more complicated is the fact that the 20th century nurse is pregnant with Jamie's child while her husband in the future, Frank (Tobias Menzies), awaits for her there.

A very dramatic exchange between the lovers was shown in the clip.

"Promise me that we'll always find a way back into each other," the Scotsman told Claire. "Wherever you go, make sure you're safe."

In the final moments of the video, it was revealed that Claire had already arrived at the original timeline. Found lying and recuperating in a hospital bed, a set of footsteps can be heard and there appeared Frank.

If the fans thought that the reunion would bring a smile to Claire, then they're up for a big disappointment.

"I'm back," Claire said as if she realized that everything happened too soon.

"…and I am so grateful," the Black Jack doppelganger flashes a grin.

During the TCA Winter Press Tour, Balfe said that her character will feel different towards her husband.

"There is that reverse thing where every time she looks at Frank, she can't help but see Black Jack… There's many layers of why that relationship is difficult when she goes back. She's definitely not the same woman that left…" the 36-year-old was quoted as saying.

"Outlander" returns to Starz April 9.
