'Person of Interest' Season 5 Premiere Date News: Not Included in Spring 2016 Lineup
Fans of American science fiction crime drama series "Person of Interest" will need to cross their fingers if they want a brand new season of the show. According to Vine Report, there is a possibility that the series may not see the light of day anymore.
CBS' spring 2016 lineup has already been released by the network but unfortunately, "Person of Interest" season 5 is not part of that list. Fans have already begun speculating that the show has been cancelled. But others are hopeful that the show has been reserved for the summer so that other shows could have a chance to run. And considering shows "Under the Dome" and "Extant" have been cancelled already, there's a big chance of that also happening to the show.
If it's true that the series will be moved, it could help boost the ratings of the show since there will be fewer competition in a summer time slot. Apparently, the show has been getting low ratings this year, which is also the reason why others are assuming that the show has been cancelled. A report from i09 also said that CBS may be planning to air it in March or April.

There are also rumors saying that the show has been just encountering delays in its production, thus the reason for the possible different air date in 2016. When asked about the future of the show, a representative from CBS answered that there is no official word yet.
If the show will return to the small screen for a new season, the story will pick up around the time Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and Samantha "Root" Groves (Amy Acker) are trying to bring "The Machine" back to life. They will be facing ethical issues and opposing views which bring conflict to the show and makes it more exciting. The disappearance of Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) will also be discovered.
