'Person Of Interest' Season 5 Spoilers: The Samaritan Hunts Down a New Target

Will John Reese be able to make it on time to save Samaritan's latest target?

CBS' hit sci-fi crime drama TV series "Person of Interest" Season 5 returns this week with a brand new episode. Fans will get to see the Samaritan hunting down its latest target. Will John Reese (Jim Caviezel) be able to make it on time to save this person in question?

According to the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "ShotSeeker," the AI will zoom in its attention to a certain New York Police Department analyst who is investigating a software glitch.

With no knowledge of who he or she is being up against to, the likelihood of this NYPD personnel to survive is really minuscule. This is where Reese comes in. It would be interesting to find out what measures Reese would take to ensure the safety of the officer.

As if this situation is not enough to preoccupy everyone, the TFC summary went on to tease on the plot that would revolve around Elias (Enrico Colantoni). The latter is already dead but his influence still has a significant impact in the show. This time around, one of Elias' cohorts is out looking to avenge his death. This puts Reese and Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) at a great disadvantage.

Viewers of the series have long been wondering if Fusco will pay the price or not, given the fact that he failed to prevent Elias' death.

In an interview, Chapman told TVLine that his character will likely to go astray in the current season. He won't remain rogue for a long time, though. However, his actions could be justified since he was being kept in the dark about the Machine for too long.

"As you know, in the first four seasons he had no knowledge of the Machine, so he has a lot of unanswered questions that he wants to resolve — and he has the tendency to start his own little investigations," the actor said.

"Person of Interest" Season 5 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
