'Pirates Of The Caribbean 5' News: 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' Reaching Post-Production Stage
Fans of the hit swashbuckling adventure franchise, "Pirates of the Caribbean," have long been keeping tabs on any updates about its latest installment, "Dead Men Tell No Tales."
Joachim Ronning, the director of PoTC 5, has been diligently giving updates on the movie. In one of his most recent Instagram posts, Ronning revealed that the project is now closing in on its post-production stage.
Followers keep bombarding the helmer for confirmation on whether or not the rumors indicating the death of a character is true or not. Ronning, however, remains tight-lipped about it.
Speculations also pointed out that Johnny Depp's beloved character, Captain Jack Sparrow, might be taking a backseat in the latest title. Replacing him in the spotlight is Captain Salazar, the pirate character played by the latest cast member, Javier Bardem.
Until it's clarified, fans should be taking this information with a proverbial grain of salt.
For the meantime, it has been reported that "Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be released earlier than its initial outing date of July 7, 2017. Ronning said the film will be sailing to the theaters by May 26, 2017, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
The official synopsis, which was shared over at Slashfilm.com, meanwhile reads:
"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him."
The summary went on to reveal that Captain Jack's only hope now would be to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon, an artifact which "bestows upon its possessor total control of the seas."
Joining Depp and Bardem are newcomers Brenton Thwaites ("The Giver") and Kaya Scodelario ("The Maze Runner") who will appear as Henry Turner and Carina Smyth, respectively.
Stay tuned for more updates.
