'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Rumors: Movie to Be Last in Franchise?

Ever since Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow introduced moviegoers to the world of pirates, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise has become a hit in theaters. However, there have been rumors that the fifth movie will probably be the last.

The sad news comes after rumors emerged earlier last year that Depp has been causing production delays due to issues in his personal life. Although the actor has not said anything about the hot gossip in town, it is expected that he might take a break sometime soon.

On the other hand, it seems that production has been rolling despite the rumors, with Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites entering the holly sailor boat as new cast members. Aside from Depp's alleged issues, comments from scriptwriter Jeff Nathanson were taken too deep by some fans.

He said two years ago that while the script for "Dead Men Tell No Tales" is unique from the rest of the movies in the franchise, the upcoming movie might be the last. His statements led fans to believe that Walt Disney and Motion Pictures might not be considering a sixth installment.

Despite the rumors, the hype lives on, especially when it was theorized that Orlando Bloom's Will Turner may be shown as a whole new person when he reunites with his good friend, Sparrow.

"At World's End" showed the events that led to Turner's taking over of The Flying Dutchman, whose previous captain was a monster filled with sea creatures all over his body. Rumor has it that Turner might have turned into a similar monster over the years, which is one of the reasons that will push Thwaites' Henry to look for his father and restore his good side.

At the moment, most of the reports emerging are plainly theories, but it would be nice to see a transformed Turner transforming for the third time to join his friend, Sparrow, and his son, Henry, in saving the pirate universe.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
