Pittsburgh Steelers Injury News: Big Ben Out Again with Mid-Foot Sprain
The Pittsburgh Steelers had to settle for a 2-2 record earlier this season when star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a sprained MCL in Week 3, missing all those four games in the process. In his second game back, though, it looks like the Steelers will have to find ways to win without him once again after suffering what appears to be a sprain in his left foot in the team's 38-35 win against Oakland last Sunday.
The team announced after the game that "Big Ben" has a mild sprain in his left foot, but it won't be as serious compared to that of the previous injury he encountered earlier, which means that Pittsburgh fans will be relieved that their main man might even be able to play in the next couple of weeks, barring any complications.
Steelers' officials also said that the quarterback will be missing one to two weeks, which means that he won't be able to play on Sunday against Cleveland. He will be substituted by Landry Jones, the same player who finished the game for him against Oakland.
Good thing, though, is that the Steelers have a bye the following week where they hope Big Ben will already be available.
The Steelers have seen a lot of setbacks this season with a bunch of injuries, including running back Le'Veon Bell, who's out for the season with an MCL injury, the same injury Big Ben suffered in Week 3.
The latest injury to Roethlisberger happened when he was sacked by the Raiders' Aldon Smith, in which Smith landed on his left foot. He was then carted off to the locker room for further observation. Head coach Mike Tomlin said that the quarterback will have an MRI in order to figure out the extent of the damage.
Earlier this year, Roethlisberger signed a five-year contract extension to remain with the Steelers.
