'Planet Of The Apes: Last Frontier' PS4 Release Date Announced
After being accidentally leaked on the PlayStation Store last month, "Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier" finally has a release date. The ambitious cinematic adventure will be released for the PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe on Nov. 21 with the Xbox One and PC released dates yet to be revealed.
Developed by Imaginati Studios, the game is set between the events of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and the recent "War for the Planet of the Apes." It takes place about a year after "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and follows a renegade group of apes who, after being deprived of resources by the onset of winter, must make their way through human-controlled territories.
While players will mostly get to play as the titular apes, they will also get to control a group of humans who, philosophically, stand in the way of the apes' quest for survival. These opposing views will come into play as the player makes decisions that will affect the course of the game and inevitably harm one party to help the other.
Making choices is perhaps the only thing players can do in the game as "Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier" is more of an interactive movie rather than an actual "game." For those who are fans of visual novels, however, it's definitely going to be a great experience with its deep storytelling with the conflicting views between the apes and humans.
The game was accidentally leaked back in October on the PlayStation Network as was available to purchase for a limited time. The game was later pulled down but not after a few eagle-eyed shoppers managed to secure a copy for themselves.
However, for those who waited or weren't able to get the "leaked" version of "Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier" the game will be available digitally for $20 USD, $10 less than the "leaked" version which was priced at $29.99.
