Pokémon Go: Most Powerful Monsters and the Hardest (Arguably) to Catch So Far; Dragonite, Snorlax and Arcanine Included in List

It's no secret that in order to become a powerful Pokémon trainer, you need to have equally powerful Pokémon by your side. You may have your arsenal of Pidgeys, Weedles and Zubats to fill your Pokédex, but having strong Pokémon with powerful CPs and moves will give you wins.

Now that you've finally gotten the hang of catching Pokémon, which ones are worth your efforts? These are the Pokémon that will help you become the very best like no one ever was:

Dragonite

There's a reason why Dragonite is a consistent favorite among Pokémon trainers, whether it be on Pokémon Go or on its Nintendo counterparts. He's just powerful and thoroughly efficient against virtually any type of Pokémon, except for Fairy and Steel-types. His attack power alone is enough to send battlers running for their lives and that's why you should, in turn, make that extra effort around the block to catch him.

Snorlax

This monstrous creature is just as powerful as he looks like. He has a healthy amount of HP and packs a powerful set of moves for battle including Earthquake, Body Slam and Zen Headbutt. He's also extremely rare.

Lapras

While we can't surf on Lapras as we would normally in Pokémon Sapphire, Lapras remains a top-tier option for your team. He's equipped with high stamina and is powerful against Flying, Ground and Rock Pokémon.

Arcanine

Everyone's favorite go-to Fire Pokémon is usually Charizard, but in Pokémon Go, you should also keep Growlithe's evolution in mind. Arcanine's power is a league of its own and it has great strength and powerful moves.

Vaporeon

Vaporeon is Eevee's most powerful evolution in Pokémon Go, apparently. It has high speed and HP, and being a water-type means he's vulnerable to very few Pokémon, particularly Grass-types. In order to get your Eevee to evolve into this gorgeous merdog, name it Rainer first.

Exeggutor

Surprise, surprise! The three-headed coconut tree is a dual-type (Grass/Psychic) Pokémon which actually makes it vulnerable to so many Pokémon types, especially Water. But make no mistake - this Pokémon has brute strength and stamina, which more than makes up for its weaknesses.

Gyarados

Another favorite Dragon Pokémon among trainers. It takes 400 candies to evolve your weakling Magikarp into this big brute, but it's so worth it once you see how high his attack and HP is.

Alakazam

Abra's third-stage evolution remains one of the most Powerful Psychic Pokémon out there, though catching Abra is no easy feat in Pokémon Go.

Charizard

Another golden standard among Dragon Pokémon. Charizard is a powerful Fire-type and packs great strength albeit low stamina. With Flamethrower in its arsenal though, there's hardly any need to worry about setting him off to battle.

Venusaur

Arguably, Water Pokémon are anyone's best bets as they're usually effective against a lot of Pokémon, including Psychic, Ghost, and Fire-type Pokémon. But Venusaur, a Grass/Poison type, can take care of that as it has pretty well-rounded solid defense, strength, HP and stamina stats.
