Pokemon Go News, Updates: New 'Trading System' In The Works, Other New Features to Anticipate in Pokemon Go's Latest Patch

Looks like Niantic Labs is busy churning out groundbreaking ideas to keep the hype up for the world's most popular game at the moment. Pokemon Go Hub reported that the game developer is currently working on a rumored Trading Feature for Pokemon Go, following the data mining of a Reddit user on the base codes.

According to the Reddit user, trading is included in the games, as is specified by the commands Trade_search, Trade_offer, Trade_response, and Trade_result in the base codes, though he noted that there aren't any ways to activate the feature in the game yet. But the new trading feature was confirmed after Niantic released its new Terms of Service (TOS) detailing trading rules for Pokemon Go, which means they have already set the ground rules for trading even before they have officially announced it or made it available. According to the ToS, the app will now permit players to capture and trade virtual items, including Pokemon, eggs, and potions!

This is good news for players who want to boost their game in Pokemon Go, especially if they wish to have a particular Pokemon and get rid of spare Pokemon another Trainer may want instead. Trading has always been a cornerstone feature in Pokemon, even in its Nintendo counterparts, as it's the only way to get certain rare Pokemon.

The ToS is pretty straightforward. Pokemon Go players could trade items, but are forbidden to do so through third-party platforms. It also prohibits the use of real or virtual cash, which means they can't trade items for Poke Coins or Virtual Game Shop purchases. Failing to follow these rules may result in the termination of your account in the game. Niantic has yet to announce an official date for this feature, although several reports speculate that it may be out as soon as October, a few weeks after the new Pokemon Go patch comes out.

Other new features

If true, the trading system would complement the new Buddy feature in Pokemon Go nicely. The Buddy System, which was announced a few days ago, allows players to choose a Pokemon "buddy" that will walk around with them in the game. After a certain distance, the game rewards you with candies, which players can use to evolve their Pokemon. Like the tracking system, no official date has been announced yet, but it could launch alongside the new patch.

Another highly anticipated feature in the game is the refreshed Tracking system. Now players can tap on a particular Pokemon and the game will show you which Pokestop to walk to, instead on relying on the one-two-three footstep system in previous versions.

Recently, Apple also confirmed the release of Pokemon Go on the Apple Watch alongside Super Mario Bros., promising a full experience of the game–although you still have to pull out your phone in order to catch a Pokemon.
