'Pokemon Go' News, Updates, Tips and Tricks: How To Catch Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres; Public Events Soon?

Itching to catch some legendaries to round up the full "Pokemon Go" experience? Say no more, because while they've been elusive so far, the legendaries Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres could be caught eventually! According to an article on Wired, Redditor _isitin_ hacked into the base codes for "Pokemon Go" code and found references to at least one of the five main legendaries, Mew - although it cannot be captured in the wild.

This means that Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres is likely to be caught in a public event! Players would recall that in the original "Pokemon Go" trailer, there was a scene in the New York Times Square where the displays suddenly showed a countdown and then a call to defeat Mewtwo. After being defeated by several Pokemon enthusiasts, Mewtwo was caught.

It's likely the same will be done for Mew, Mewtwo's genetic clone, and the three legendary birds. Following the series of updates to keep "Pokemon Go" fresh for players, it's likely that these public events might soon arrive, especially given the declining player rate for the worldwide phenomenon.

Exclusivity?

In a recent interview with Recode Decode, Niantic CEO John Hanke hinted at "hold-in person events" for Pokemon Go players. The idea stemmed from their older Niantic game, "Ingress." But while he dodged the question of whether or not these were the same public events expected to launch the five last legendaries of Pokemon Go, Hanke did cryptically remark that these will be a great opportunity to "introduce new Pokemon."

Bustle, however, predicted that only those who have captured all of 150 Pokemon in the Pokedex can get a chance to participate in these public events. After all, "Pokemon Go" developer and creator Niantic Labs might want to keep the topnotch features of the game for those who have truly dedicated and immersed themselves in the interactive game. But not to worry, budding Pokemon trainers, as Bustle also thought that there's way too many players involved in the game to get exclusive.

New features

Hanke, however, teased several equally exciting new features for "Pokemon Go." One is the new trading feature, which would allow players to trade Pokemon with each other. Another, Hanke said, is the introduction of player-versus-player battles, which would increase the interactivity of the game.

Meanwhile, players can now expect the latest "Pokemon Go" updates for iOS and Android, which now comes with the new Buddy Pokemon system and Pokemon Go Plus.
