'Pokemon Go' Release Date Rumors, Game Details Revealed

Ever since the game "Pokemon Go" was announced back in September, fans have been very eager to know more details about it. The trailer released by developer Niantic was a very promising one that the very common question asked is when the game might come into reality.

According to Gospel Herald, rumors about the release date of the upcoming game are flying around. Some sources say that the augmented reality game for mobile phones will be downloadable for free once the role-playing video game "Pokemon Z" is released. But most news point to a 2016 release date, probably sometime in February. Comic Book noted that it's expected to be released in conjunction with Pokemon' 20th anniversary next year.

While release date news are scarce, game details are fortunately available. Just recently, John Hanke and Mike Quigley from Niantic sat down in an interview with Venture Beat to offer more details and answers to various questions.

During the interview, Hanke revealed that the Pokemon monsters can be found in different parts of the world. Their locations rely on what type of Pokemon they are. "Water Pokémon will live near the water. It may be that certain Pokémon will only exist in certain parts of the world. Very rare Pokémon may exist in very few places. But you can trade," said Hanke.

The men behind the game also revealed that "Pokemon Go" will be very similar to their previously released game titled "Ingress," which is an augmented-reality massively online location-based game. They are making sure that as players get out of the house, they will be able to encounter a wild Pokemon within 5 minutes, although it may not be the rarest Pokemon in the world.

Players can also join a number of events which Niantic will organize so that they can trade the Pokemon from their regions with those found in faraway locations. Hanke also confirmed that the game will have gyms, which is the popular boss battle destinations featured in almost every "Pokemon" game.
