Powerball Winner of $590M Still Has Not Come Forward (VIDEO)

The Powerball winner of the record $590 million has still not come forward to claim the prize.

It has been revealed that weeks after the draw was made the winner still has not stepped up, and he or she is running out of time to stake their claim for the winners.

The winner has a total of 60 days to claim the money as a lump sum, or alternatively has 180 days to make a claim for lifetime payments. If the money is not claimed by that time then the money goes to the state and the winning ticket becomes worthless.

The winning ticket was reportedly sold at a Publix in Zephyrhills, Fla.

It is said to be a town with just a little over 13,000 residents and is a type of place where everyone knows one another, according to some local sources. However, despite it being such an intimate place, the winner still has not been revealed.

Officials have already asked anyone in the area who had purchased tickets from that supermarket to check their numbers again, but days later still no one has come forward to claim the prize money.

Florida Lottery executive Cindy O'Connell has said just following the draw being made: "This would be the sixth Florida Powerball winner and right now, it's the sole winner of the largest ever Powerball jackpot."

"We're delighted right now that we have the sole winner."

O'Connell added that Florida has had the most Powerball winners out of all states.

The $590 million draw attracted huge numbers of players across the nation, with many people buying multiple tickets to increase their chances of winning.

Officials confirmed that about four of every five possible combinations of Powerball numbers was in play, making it more likely than not that someone somewhere would win yesterday.

The winning numbers for the $590 million Powerball lottery were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, and the Powerball came out as number 11.
