'Prison Break' Revival News: Series Stars Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller Offer Updates

Over the course of several months, there have been rumors indicating the return of former Fox River State Penitentiary inmates Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield into the small screens.

One of the most recent updates, however, pointed out the difficulties keeping the project from taking off. According to TVLine, Fox might find it hard to make the revival because of the schedule constraints its series stars' Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are currently having.

Miller (as Scofield) and Purcell (as Burrows) are recently tied up to The CW's superhero drama TV series "Legends of Tomorrow." In the said upcoming spinoff of the network's "Arrow" and "The Flash," the duo plays Leonard Snart / Captain Cold and Mick Rory / Heat Wave, respectively.

According to Purcell, with whom the media outlet has spoken with during the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Sunday, the big bosses behind "Legends" and "Prison Break" are currently "negotiating the complexities of a potential deal." He did, however, confirm that the revival special is "moving forward" to its fruition.

"There are a lot of moving parts to that conversation," Miller chimed in to say, "but we are hopeful that we'll be able to shoot something this spring.

The 43-year-old actor-model went on to reveal that "Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends," and that the latter "is the priority" as of the moment.

As for when the show will begin its production, Miller said: "…we're aiming for spring."

In an earlier report from the publication, Fox Co-Chairman and CEO Dana Walden described the new installment as "a bit of a sequel."

"It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back," Walden confirmed.
