Robert Downey Jr. Welcomes Baby Daughter With Humorous Facebook Post
Actor Robert Downey Jr. took to Facebook to announce the arrival of their baby daughter into the world. The 49-year old actor included their newborn daughter's name in the humorous Facebook status and some other relevant details.
"Yep… Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th. She's 7 lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan's traits that have seemingly overwritten my 'junk DNA,'" he writes.
"After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project," the actor joked on the status. "Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, 'Dad! You are embarassing me… I'm 30, this has gotta stop.'"
Avri is couple's second child after first born two-year old son Exton. RDJ also has another son from another marriage, 21-year old Indio.
The Iron Man star first made the pregnancy announcement via a tweet July earlier this year. The tweet read, "Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?"
The couple had recently appeared on the red carpet during the 2014 BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards last week, where the actor spoke of his wife's pregnancy during his acceptance speech.
"The second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in," he reveals.
"It's just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you're going to get. And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it's just like: You don't know anything. It's great!" he adds.
RDJ had received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film that night.
