Samsung Galaxy A9 Officially Launched; Specs Include 6-Inch Display, Snapdragon 652 Chipset, 3 GB Of RAM

The device that every Samsung fan has been waiting for has finally been unveiled. According to International Business Times, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) has been officially announced in China. But even though its reveal was just recently done, several have already known about the features and specifications of the new addition to the Galaxy A series, thanks to the leaks that surfaced in the past weeks.

As noted in NDTV Gadgets, the new device is part of the company's premium line of smartphones. It features more powerful specs under the hood when compared to the recently launched Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016).

The device sports a 6-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution and comes with the same metal frame and glass body design just like the one in Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6. The Indian Express noted that both the back and front panel of the smartphone are covered with the Corning Gorilla glass.

Mashable also detailed that the device will have under its hood an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor along with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage that can be further expanded via microSD card up to 128 GB.

As for the camera specs, the Galaxy A9 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera and features a wide aperture of f/1.9 and optical image stabilization. Meanwhile, the front sports an 8-megapixel camera. It is pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports dual-SIM and 4G.

The device also features a fingerprint sensor which allows users to utilize the Samsung Pay mobile payment service. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC and GPS. As a phablet, the Galaxy A9 is expected to carry a huge battery, which has a capacity of 4,000 mAh. It's also said to support fast charging.

The price and the availability for the Samsung Galaxy A9 isn't revealed yet but the mobile is listed already on a China site.
