Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Will the US Model Release in November?
Despite much speculation about the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, its official United States release date remains unconfirmed.
However, a Verizon Wireless document leak suggests the Galaxy Nexus could release on Nov. 17, the same date that has been confirmed by Samsung for its United Kingdom variant.
The document, supposedly a note of instruction for Verizon Wireless partners, details that promotional items for the Galaxy Nexus should not be used until Nov. 15, in preparation for its availability on Nov. 17.
Sources for AndroidCentral noted that the document is a “work in progress that will be sent out next week to all retail stores and partners along with promotional materials such as posters and flyers."
According to sources, however, the dates may not be accurate or may still be subject to change. Another recent Verizon leak revealed the network’s promotional "Roadmap" for its products scheduled to release during the holiday season.
From the Roadmap, insiders have deduced that the Galaxy Nexus could release after Black Friday weekend as the premier device in the "Samsung Holiday Portfolio."
They suggested that the proposed release dates for the Motorola Droid Razr and the HTC Rezound match up with the promotion dates on the Roadmap. However, the Roadmap could also be an unofficial mockup.
Thus far, Verizon has not made an announcement about the U.S. release of the Galaxy Nexus, except to say that it would release "later this year."
At its unveiling on Oct. 19, Samsung and Google representatives said the device would release in November.
