Samsung Galaxy Note 7 vs Galaxy Note 5: Improvements, Specs, Features and Prices Compared
Usually, Samsung releases a model of the same series in consecutive numbers. This time, however, the company skipped the model name "Samsung Galaxy Note 6."
According to Android Central, this creation is a complementary model to Samsung's Galaxy S7 edge. That's why, the company opted to lessen the "awkwardness" and the confusion by letting "Note 6" go.
The Note 7 is designed similarly to the S7 edge but the highlight of this new release is its highly advanced Note feature.
Do you need an upgrade?
Physically-wise, the Note 7 and the Note 5 have some minute difference. For one, Note 5's material is still not that far off as compared to that of the Note 7, except for its sleek "S7 Edge" element. If you're keeping track of your gadget news, you also know by now that we still haven't reached Note 5's anniversary since its release.
But if you are comfort-specific, you will undoubtedly like how Note 7 feels inside your palm.
The Note 5 is thicker than the Note 7 by 2.2 millimeters. The Note 7's lustrous and very seductive curves also makes it more inviting and comfortable to cling with.
And if you are visually-inclined, well, the Note 7 is definitely a whole lot sexier than the Note 5. The latter's maintained signature Note "boxed" look may not appeal to you that much anymore.
Three Major Improvements
If you're after what's inside the model more than what it looks on the outside, you have to direct your attention to the three major developments Samsung rammed into this new release: increased battery life, improved water resistance feature and the microSD expansion.
Now that most of our time revolves around our smart phones, the battery life of a new phone is crucial. The Note 7 possesses an increase of 17 percent from the original 3500mAh, Android Central says.
Also, even when you take out the phone's S Pen, it still is water resistant. The Note 7 can stay five feet deep immersed in water for as long as 30 minutes.
Lastly, everyone who loves the microSD extension will most likely be enticed to buy this phone. After Samsung took it out from the Note 5 model, it is refreshing to feel how memory storage can be freely stretched out again.
