The T-Mobile model of the Galaxy S2 is know as being slightly different from the other United States variants that are powered by AT&T and Sprint and have 1.2GHz processors.

The T-Mobile model incorporates a Hercules processor as opposed to the standard CPU seen in the AT&T and Sprint models, according to AndroidGuys.

The Hercules processor allows for modifying to maximum processing speeds of 1.8GHz.

Developer Romanbb created a "Jugs" kernel that allows the processor to over-clock at faster speeds. In addition, the kernel regulates voltage control.

AndroidGuys noted that even though the kernel has not been fully tested, it currently seems to be compatible with most ROM. Thus, AT&T and Sprint models of the Galaxy S2 should be able to get a processing speed boost as well.

The fastest processing speed seen in most current smartphone handsets is 1.5GHz.

Along with the T-Mobile model, AT&T will soon have a Galaxy S2 with a 1.5GHz processor. Its 4G LTE variant, the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket will release on Nov. 6.
