Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 Launched in Taiwan, Includes 4G LTE Connectivity
Samsung has recently launched a new tablet in Taiwan and it's an upgraded version of the 9.6-inches Galaxy Tab E which was released in June last year. Dubbed as the Galaxy Tab E 8.0, the tablet has a smaller display size. However, according to Phone Radar, it comes with a higher price and better specifications compared to its predecessor.
With its 8-inch WXGA TFT display and 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 supports 4G LTE. It can also make calls unlike its predecessor. As for the price, Phones Review detailed that the 8-inch variant costs TWD 8,990 in Taiwan - equivalent to around $268 or Rs.18,100. There's no announcement yet on when the gadget may be available in other regions but the price is expected to vary.
The processor that will be used in the device is not known yet but it is said to be a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. There are speculations though that it will be a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset. Along with that is a 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via the microSD card slot.

Android Headlines also detailed that the device will carry a 5,000 mAh battery and will be running the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz interface laid on top. As for the design and look, the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 comes with a polycarbonate body, which is similar to the 9.6 variant.
The tablet is also equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GLONASS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data syncing purposes. Android Geeks noted that the device is pre-installed with Microsoft Office apps for easy access to documents and a "Kids Time Plus" app for educational and entertainment content for the children.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 is expected to be available for sale in Taiwan by the end of January.
